Underrated problem
It is perhaps the most underestimated problem within the service advisor position: having to register workshop appointments twice, or sometimes even three times, for MOT, maintenance and tire changes, for example. A consequence of the diversity of systems at many dealerships.

Performing these tasks is often mind numbing, adds nothing and unnecessarily weighs on the already busy service advisor. This brings with it a lot of frustration, for which there was no solution until now.

Unburden Service Advisor
Based on the experience of both Plan-IT and CARMEN, a link that allows every workshop appointment to be scheduled in the various systems with one action is high on the wish list for many service advisers. This frees up coveted time for the service adviser and makes his work more attractive.

Plan-IT and CARMEN Automotive BDC
The applications for our workshop planning software and CARMEN's customer contact software are an extension of each other. As more and more joint customers started to recognize the problem, this proved to be the proverbial 'final push' we needed to get started with a connection. In mid-2018, it was therefore decided to establish the link together.

It was a great milestone to be able to present the Plan-IT and CARMEN link to all dealerships in the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2019.

About the connection
The link is for service advisors at dealer companies (groups) that use a Plan-IT Workshop module or higher. Available in three variants:

  • VIEW APPOINTMENTS: makes workshop history transparent (from Plan-IT Workshop and higher)
  • CONSULT AVAILABILITY: provides insight into workshop history and availability (from Plan-IT Online and higher)
  • SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS: makes workshop history and availability transparent and scheduling appointments possible (from Plan-IT Online On Time)
  • Note. the DMS link with the Plan-IT module used by the dealer company (group) determines whether the appointment is also automatically processed in the DMS.
